For today’s lesson, we learned how to make fresh pasta and a sauce of our choosing to go with it. Chef Avril and Chef Jessica started off our day on the BC Campus with a quick introduction on how to form our pasta dough, and then feed it through the machine we used to create even, flat noodles. After making our dough and allowing it to rest before working with it, everyone began working on their respective sauce, with groups being able to choose from alfredo, marinara, and mushroom. My group worked on the mushroom sauce, which turned out great, only after standing over it and stirring every few seconds. So by the time we finished, everyone was ready to dig in.

All groups completed their pasta and their sauce, and ate their dish for lunch before heading back to the main campus for our end-of-day reflections and final cleanup until it was time to head home.

Maria and Olivia assemble the marinara.

Ambika and her attention to detail.  We wont tell her its the wrong measuring cup.

Max running the pasta through the machine.

A plate of fresh home-made pasta with all three of our sauces!
